Light Up Blue Ridge
Parade
Saturday November 30th, starting at 5:30 pm
- Parade begins at the corner of Church and E. Main St. goes down E. Main to Mountain and then back up W. Main to Depot St. You will have time to park your vehicle/float and walk over to the park for the lighting of the Great Tree.
- Please line up no later than 5 pm so the parade can start on time at 5:30 pm.
- We encourage everyone to add lights to their floats but if that is not possible ask all float riders to bring flashlights.
- If you arrive early enough you might be able to get in line on E. Main via Church St. If not you can access E. Main via Summit, McKinney St or driving by Grumpy Old Men in the 1300 block of E. Main.
- There will be time after the parade to park your float, car etc and walk back to the park for the tree lighting at 7 pm.

Parade Guidelines and Instructions - NO SANTAS PLEASE!
Only Santa in the parade is to be the “real” Santa at the end of the parade.
- You may complete our Parade Card with information about your organization, business or group and bring with you to the parade or if you prefer we will give you a card once you are in line and you can fill it out then. The MC will use this information when announcing your float. Keep this card with you and a parade monitor will collect it when you approach the MC stand.
- Participants are not allowed to throw any candy or other items from the parade float. However, “Walkers” (i.e. participants on foot) are allowed to hand out candy/items during the parade. Candy may only be passed from hand-to-hand. Under no circumstances is candy to be thrown or tossed anywhere along the parade route.
- Please do not exit the parade route prior to the end of the parade.
- Once your entry has started along the parade route, no one may board your float.
- All live animals are to be bagged or the owner is responsible for immediately curbing/cleaning up after their animals.
- Alcoholic beverages and other controlled substances are forbidden in the parade.
